In order to create a welcoming and inclusive environment, all attendees must adhere to the following Code of Conduct.​

RESPECT FOR DIVERSITY

Open Sauce welcomes and respects attendees of all backgrounds, cultures, and experiences. No form of discrimination or harassment, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or religion will be tolerated.

Everyone is coming together because they love science. You don’t want to be that guy.

VIOLENCE

No physical or verbal violence or threats towards other attendees or staff will be tolerated. This includes any form of intimidation, stalking, or unwanted physical contact.

BE KIND AND CONSIDERATE

Attendees should be mindful of their words and actions, and treat others with kindness and consideration. Do not engage in behaviors that may make others feel unwelcome or uncomfortable. Attendees should not engage in any behavior that disrupts the event or interferes with the enjoyment of others.

Keep your eye out for folks that seem overwhelmed or lost. With your help, we can make this a great experience for everyone. 

ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES

Attendees should not engage in any illegal activities during the event, including but not limited to theft, drug use, or vandalism.

PHOTO AND VIDEO

By attending Open Sauce you acknowledge and agree to grant Open Sauce the irrevocable right at the Event to record, film, photograph, or capture your likeness in any media now available and hereafter developed and to distribute, broadcast, use, or otherwise globally to disseminate, in perpetuity, such media without any further approval from you or any payment to you.

We realize many of you intend to film things, and that’s great! But please be mindful of people’s comfort with being on camera. Ask permission before getting up close and personal. We all know we’re going to be on camera, just don’t be rude about it. 

CONSEQUENCES

Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in removal from the event without refund, and potentially being banned from future events. 

By attending Open Sauce, you agree to abide by this Code of Conduct and help us create a safe and welcoming environment for all attendees.
